Wildfire 1971 - 1984 The Original Cosmic Cowboy

$30.00Price
Released in 1998, yet another long overdue 'career-overview' CD of a country rock legend in the great Raven tradition of Gram Parsons, Gene Clark, Steve Young and Nils Lofgren compilations. Texan singer-songwriter Michael Murphey (the original Cosmic Cowboy) first came to attention in the late 60's as leader of The Lewis & Clark Expedition and writer of hits for The Monkees. His career as a country music performer stretched over 12 years and included massive hits such as "Wildfire" and "What's Forever For?" This ambitious collection covers eleven albums from his peak recording years and includes contributions from Michael's contemporaries such as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Willie Nelson, John Denver, Charlie Daniels, Katy Moffatt, Ricky Skaggs and many more. A sumptious 16 page booklet features rare photos, detailed notes and a full discography in the finest Raven tradition.
